Passing this along from the good peeps at Hawaii.com, where they've redesigned the site. Yup, new fonts and colors, but, that's not all.

It's now chock full of more than 5,000 pages o' stuff for you to explore and garner all the info you need to plan your Hawaii vacation.

Key sections help you plan and book travel and find things to do. Of course, you can always just "dream and shop." Included in this section are slide shows, virtual tours and a new selection of island videos.

Obama's ohana

   We're sorry to hear about the passing of Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham. She lived in Hawaii, and died Monday at age 86 of cancer.

   Regardless of your political views, it's sad when someone close to you dies. We extend our sympathies.

   Obama called her "Toot."

   "She was one of those quiet heroes that we have all across America," he said of her.  "They're not famous, their names aren't in the newspapers (fewer names are in any newspapers these days, but that's another story), but each and every day they work hard. They look after their families. They sacrifice for their children and their grandchildren."

   The woman was responsible for raising this man, in whom many people are investing much hope and faith.  We hope these emotions are not misplaced and we hope Mr. Obama works every day on behalf of all Americans.

   We also hope you get out and vote, because again, regardless of your political views, the right to a secret ballot is a right not everyone in the world enjoys.
