With the credit card issuers raising their interest rates to consumers, (and banks continuing to enjoy near interest-free credit courtesy of the Fed) it always pays to make sure you're receiving the biggest bang for your credit buck.
Our current favorite is the Hawaiian Airlines Visa, because it rewards our patronage with mileage points that can go toward defraying the cost, or even paying for flights to our favorite place on the planet -- Kailua-Kona, Big Island, Hawaii.
Sometimes you can not only get the good feeling of helping yourself and the moribund economy by using your card, but also might do a bit of good for others as well.
Thus, we pass along the latest inducement to spend from our friends at Hawaiian Air -- behold the opportunity to support Hawaiian Public Radio.
Pledge to contribute $100 or more and receive 10 miles for each dollar you pledge. We're informed there is no limit.
In order to participate, you of course must have a Hawaiian Miles credit card and respond by September 3rd.
And oh, you also have to participate in the mileage program offered by Hawaiian Airlines.
