Our guest book

We keep a guest book here at the  Kona Isle Condo C31 and, periodically, will share some of their happy comments...but first, this...

We tell folks that we appreciate their comments and thank all who choose to visit our humble abode. Mahalo, cousins ;).

We also try to listen to any requests as well.

Any rate, here's an entry from Jeff and Jennifer of Monterey, Calif.:

"We had a great time here on the Big Island! The condo was great/ We left you a 'rice cooker' because rice is a staple in our lives. May we suggest that in the future, you guys might get a DVD player. It's sometimes difficult to get VHS tapes. We will tell all our friends on the Mainland to come and visit..."

That entry, is actually the first in our guest book and was written a few years back. We've long since added a handy, dandy DVD player to the modest setup, and say thanks to our Monterey friends for the 'cooker.'

It's still here, and has me thinking about cooking some up for some Spam musubi...

Maybe one of these days, a big screen  TV . . .

More holiday gift ideas

This one comes courtesy of the artist with one name - Wyland.

Mr. Wyland is a most prolific producer of art works, many of which are inspired by his frequent trips and dives around the Hawaiian Islands.

If you dive enough on the Big Island, you might be fortunate enough to be aboard a dive boat where the artist himself is part of the party, armed with digital camera and on a quest for more divine island inspiration.

Anyhoo, included in this post is an example of one of the many gift ideas to be found at his online store.

This one is called Sea Turtle, where "the mysterious solitary nature of a great sea turtle comes to life in this graceful Wyland acrylic sculpture."  Previously listed at $140 US, it's now on sale at $60.
