We've written in this space before about the magical works of art/media produced by the singled-named fellow Wyland. We've enjoyed many a stroll through one of this talented artists' galleries in downtown Kailua-Kona.
And, in case there's an eco-ocean friendly person on your gift list this holiday season, we pass this one along (also, in the Obama-era-message-of-hope-(TM) you'll also see fit to gift OurKonaCondo.com).
The above piece is entitled "Glacier Waters", it is Giclee on canvas. Regularly $3,995, it's holiday sales price is a recession-busting $1997.50.
The deal includes signed and numbered artwork, custom fabric matting and frame.
Shipping is included on all orders from wylandgalleries.com that are shipped within the U.S. and extra charges apply to all orders shipped outside the continental U.S.A.
Here's what Wyland people say about the work:
"Despite the presence of glaciers, the chilly waters of Southeast Alaska, prince William Sound and the Barren Islands of Alaska play host to humpback whales every spring, who feast on the abundant food sources.
In this mixed media image by Wyland, the artist uses his artistic imagination and photography to depict the first moments of a humpback's deep dive in search of food.
At one time before whaling, there were about 15,000 humpbacks in this area of Alaska, Wyland says. They've made a comeback, but scenes like this are still rare."
And again, (hint, hint) our address at the Kona Condo, on Ali'i Drive, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, 96740, is a matter of record, so you know where to ship ours. ;)
