The National Science Foundation has posted a wonderful new Instagram interactive slide story about the Weddell Seal Science Team's science work and findings studying the Erebus Bay, Antarctica Weddell seal population.

This fun and informative interactive slide story was produced by Sara Eckert and her team with National Science Foundation communications, working with Prof. Jay Rotella, lead scientist of the Weddell seal population project. Sara is a Communications Specialist at the National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of Polar Programs. Jay and his daughter MSU senior Sophia Rotella produce the Weddell Seal Science Instagram presence. The new NSF slide story includes numerous beautiful photos by MSU grad student and 2023 Field Team Leader, Parker Levinson and other field team members.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has long been at the forefront of developing innovative approaches to science communication and education, both formal for classroom study and informal for general public science communication and education. The Weddell seal population study is funded by the National Science Foundation, through a grant managed through Montana State University.
